Synopsis
In the small California town of Santa Vista, four 8-year-old best friends help found and maintain The Critter Club, a rescue shelter set on saving "lost and lonely" animals in their town.
Amy, Marion, Liz and Ellie each have their own distinct personalities and interests. Amy is smart and shy. Marion is organized and competitive. Liz is an artistic free spirit while Ellie is loud and dramatic. One thing the girls have in common (besides their friendships with each other) is a serious love of animals.
As these friends, along with eccentric millionaire, Marge Sullivan, and veterinarian, Dr. Melanie Purvis, work to help a wide variety of adorable critters, they encounter and navigate elementary school experiences that any reader can relate to.
